Dr who: Have a jellybaby.
Cthulhu: Aargh! I must be back in that blasted cute parallel universe again! (runs)
Dr who: Well, that was easy.
As for Marvin, did you know that Ford Prefect was originally designed as an anti-Dr Who? Douglas Adams said so himself more than once. _________________ Cha-Cha-Cha!

Huh... I didn't know that, actually. But the more I think about it, the greater sense it makes. _________________ Hi. This is the qmail-send program. I believe the distinction was that Dr Who would be late to a party due to having saved some race from extinction, whereas Ford would assume that any race worth saving from extinction would survive long enough for him to enjoy the party first. _________________ Cha-Cha-Cha!

Cthulhu beats Dr. Who, Marvin, and everyone else.....with the possible exception of The Borg (for those familiar with Star Trek). _________________ Mmm, yummy!

Seems to me there actually was an elaborate and well-written Doctor Who meets Cthulhu fan-fic online somewhere, with plans to make an amateur film based on it. Several offical books and there should be a couple of radio plays, too.
My father has most of the old Doctor Who's on video tape, I ought to borrow and re-watch those some time.... _________________ "All hello... recently glanced and such saw here gibberish: Cthulhu dimensional shambler black abyss blood sucker... will there be utterances on this topic ?" - babuirskdiaslow

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yog-Sothoth#Literature
If you accept the Doctor Who novels as cannon then The Doctor already battled the forces of an Outer God.
Still here is what I think would happen.
Doctor Who - Cthulu Cross Over begins.
The Doctor travels far into the future and sees Cthulu.
Cthulu - "You're still alive. Don't you ever die?"
The Doctor - Do I know you?
The Doctor travels really far back in time. The Doctor sees Cthulu establishing his pre human empire.
The Doctor - So we meet again?
Doctors Current Compains - "You know that thing."
The Doctor - We met.
Cthulu - When?
The Doctor - In about 100,000 eons.
Cthulu drives The Doctor to the bring of madness by mentally attacking him. The Doctor regenerates, over and over again ( according to the main writer of the "revived" Doctor Who show the 13 regeneration limit is gone)
Cthulu - "Why don't you die?"
The Doctor goes back into the Tardis. Cthulu manages to squeeze in through the door.
Cthulu - "Ok enough of this joke who sent you. Azathoth,
Nyarlathotep, Shub-Niggurath, Yog-sothoth."
The Doctor - Never heard of them.
Cthulu - "But how their is no way this could be made by a mortal?"
The Doctor - Time Lord technology
Cthulu leaves and compains to Yog-sothoth.
Doctor Who - Cthulu Cross Over ends.
If it wasn't for the whole world ending thing the two of them would probably get into a conversation on non-linear time and 53rd dimensional physics.
Sure the Great Old Ones can lead people to madness but The Doctor lives a fourth dimensional life. The Doctor could ruin one of your plots and be your sworn enemy before he ever met you. |

Honestly, doctor who canon changes so much that no one can really rely on it. the 8th doctor even said that he was half human if i remember correctly. |
